Premium Sharpness
for Your Knives

With our HORL® Sharpeners, anybody even with no prior knowledge can achieve the best sharpening results for even more culinary delights.

The „HORL® - Principle“

Fix the knife, grind and hone it. While the diamond grinding disc is smoothly rolling against the blade, the magnetic angle support holds the knife in a constant angle. The ceramic honing disc further refines and smoothens the cutting edge of the blade. A successful combination of stability and precision for your daily usage.

Constant grinding Angle

Our HORL® magnetic angle support guarantees a constant angle during the sharpening process. This allows a precise and sustainable sharpness and contributes to the longevity of your favorite knives, through reproducibility and the limited abrasion. While the 20° angle provides stable and quick results, the 15° ensures filigree sharpness for the most qualitative blades.

Changeable grinding discs for more sharpness

Different types of knives have different needs. The changeable sharpening surfaces provide more flexibility, they allow these needs to be individually met and the desired result to be achieved. The surfaces are simply screwed onto the sharpener and can be used without water.

What should be considered while sharpening high quality steels?

„Let’s take a Damascus knife for example. Damascus steel is traditionally manufactured from different steels with high carbon density. These carbon steels are not stainless, but have a finer microstructure when properly treated with heat. This is the reason why they can be finer grounded and have a sharper cutting edge. In order to maintain the sharpness, it is important to protect your knife from any heat that could occur during a too long or too quick sharpening process, for example. Heat can affect the blade and could lead to potential breakouts on the edge. As a master bladesmith, I recommend to everyone who wants to sharpen their knives by themselves to use a sharpening system that feels safe, respects the knife and achieves perfect results. Therefore, I can only recommend the HORL® Sharpener.“
